Constant Negotiation

Peace Corps service entails a constant negotiation between the PCV, their government sponsors, and their foreign partners.  Each party had different goals within the partnership.  When one party’s goals were privileged, the neglected party grew resentful.  However, as PCVs developed their relationship with their hosts, they advocated for their projects and their work style, which led to more fulfilling relationships with their partners.
